Our Story

The EquiTrade Group was founded in 1991 with a mission to help exceptional U.S. CPG manufacturers enter and scale across Latin America. We are a full-service international export management company, overseeing the export of North American-manufactured supermarket products, with a rare combination of regional expertise, operational discipline, and long-standing relationships with top retailers Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean countries.

The EquiTrade Group partners with top-tier U.S. manufacturers to build lasting success in Latin American markets. Our relationships span decades: Many of our brand partners have been with us for more than 25 years, because we remain deeply involved long after launch. Jaime Angulo — Founder & Managing Director (Chicago, IL)

Jaime Angulo founded the The EquiTrade Group and has more than 40 years of experience in foreign relations, international sales and marketing, and logistics. Angulo made his career bringing giants together. He has expert knowledge of all logistical aspects of export, packaging compliance, sales administration and international customer relations. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Angulo was born and raised in Baranquilla, Colombia, and has lived in Chicago, Illinois for more than 40 years.
