EquiTrade’s 5 Phase Export Strategy

01

Phase 1: Market Entry Strategy

Select the best potential partners in our markets for the brand. We introduce the brand, then after the buyers review the portfolio and pricing, sample products are sent to the targeted buyers. This happens via food shows, in-person and virtual meetings, and presentations to develop interest. The buyers select a portfolio based on top-selling products in the US that can fill their needs or develop new categories.

Time Frame

3-6 months depending on time of year after samples arrive to the buyer.
Nov, Dec, early Jan non-viable for pre-selling due to end-of-year & holidays.
– Moving on to Phase 2 assumes that the buyer is interested in the product.

Phase 2: Export Requirements and Health Registrations

Once the products are approved, EquiTrade files Health Registration in the markets requiring them.

Time Frame

After information (labels, tech specs, nutritional information, legal authorizations) is received, this phase takes 3-6 months after filing, depending on the market.

Phase 3: Initial Orders

These are the first three orders. Here is where we analyze the product rotation and learn about performance with consumers.

Phase 4: Maximizing Distribution

In this stage, EquiTrade locks in planograms with the category manager to make the brand a permanent fixture at as many stores as possible. By the end of Phase 4, we know how many SKUs per store and how many stores per retailer will be in the portfolio.

Phase 5: Strategic Export, Ongoing Performance Analytics

This is the stage where everything flows easily for the brand manufacturer. EquiTrade provides regular updates, and reliable sales projections and forecasts required/desired. We work with the local importer/retailer/distributor on keeping your brand positioned well, selling well, and growing.
